A Model is an exhibition that proposes a reflection on the role of the museum at the beginning of the twenty-first century. It reaffirms the need to think of the institution as a living place, sensitive and receptive to contemporary debates. A Model considers the possibilities that arise when museum collections are reimagined as active and performative environments. Composed of newly commissioned works as well as works from the Mudam collection, A Model brings together more than thirty artists.

Addressing the issue of accessibility and equal rights for people with disabilities, Finnegan Shannon’s ongoing series Do you want us here or not (2018–), consists of benches, chairs and chaiselongues, inviting visitors to take a break. For their latest commission, Finnegan Shannon created four works responding specifically to the linguistic variety of Luxembourg.
